Have you tried them? Would love to hear if you think they work, if you think they are expensive but worth the money, anything you can tell me about them really. I've tried healthy eating and it's made no difference.

pasta, I'm about 3 stone overweight and although I have never tried avocado, I do eat a small handful of nuts most days, I eat salmon and trout and use olive olive, but there's no way I could eat the skin off a chicken. I might do as lankeela has said and try the shake for breakfast the soup for lunch and a healthy meal for evenings.

Thanks emmie and all those who have given me advice.
I have certainly lost weight in the short term (ie in prep for a holiday) by using Slimfast readymade shakes for breakfast and lunch, I really love the vanilla and chocolate one - but only when I wanted to lose 5 lbs or so quickly. I'm not sure they'd work long term, they are not very filling and also expensive.
To drop 5 pounds maybe, but I wouldn't want to have something like this on a regular basis.

This is for a shake...

Ingredients

Skimmed Milk (78%), Water, Maltodextrin, Milk Proteins, Corn Oil, Thickener (Acacia Gum), Stabilisers (Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Carrageenan), Vitamins and Minerals1, Emulsifier (Mono and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids), Natural Flavouring, Colour (Lycopene), Antioxidant (Sodium Ascorbate), Sweetener (Sucralose), 1Vitamins and Minerals: Magnesium Citrate, Potassium Phosphate, Ferric Pyrophosphate, Vitamin E, Niacin, Vitamin A, Sodium Selenite, Zinc Oxide, Copper Gluconate, Manganese Sulfate, Pantothenic Acid, Biotin, Vitamin D, Folic Acid, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B

I also know I'd be hungry in 2 hours.

Prudie did you ever try the supermarkets own brand, I see they are a lot cheaper.?
Question Author
pasta I wouldn't mind losing 5 lbs because at least I would know it is possible for me to lose weight and it might motivate me to keep going.
That is true Barsel. I hope you find something that works for you.
Question Author
Thanks pasta.
That's disappointing for you, Barsel.
Have you had you thyroid checked lately?
If your general health is good, then maybe try the shake/soup diet for a few weeks, even if it's just to prove to yourself that you can lose a bit of weight.

Yes Patsy, I had a full M.O.T of bloods done yesterday, just waiting for the results.
A healthy diet is one thing, a healthy diet for someone trying to lose weight is another.
We eat what I consider to be a very healthy diet but we don’t lose weight (we’re not trying to).
If we wanted to lose weight we’d just have to eat less of what we normally eat.
