I haven't tasted red wine for years but I thought I would give it a try again this year. I'm looking for something that's tasty but not a wine that some would call "full bodied", if that's the term to use. I'm really not bothered about it tasting like blackberries etc as this would go over the top of my head. I'd like something French if possible and under about £10. In a nutshell, I suppose I'm looking for a "mild" red wine although I realise it's not the best way to describe it!
Any suggestions please? Thank you.

Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon Australian Red Wine,
I love Malbec but I wouldnt call it light. Another contender is a pinot noir.
not too expensive either. Not too heavy on the palate.
i only know i like it.
Emmie, I'd love to introduce you to the delights of wine; but it's so subjective that it's not possible. Check out some of the recommendations here. Think about what you have liked and what you have disliked. Sweetness - tannin level (an astringency) - acidity - fruitiness - alcohol level. Problem is; it's probably more important who you drink with and the overall ambiance. Best wishes.
Tasting Notes
Dark plum and blackcurrant flavours, subtle oak and fine tannins combine in a rich, full flavoured wine with perfect balance and a lingering finish
atheist, i was introduced to this wine by a friend, i don;t like sweet wines at all.
that is why i have numerous bottles, have had no one around for a while because of the covid restrictions.
Emmie; if you like it, then stay with it. Maybe try a few others with similar characteristics - you might find some even better. Wine isn't coke, it's full of subtle gradations.
i like port too but in small doses.
Emmie, you're getting a bit like Nana in the Royle family. - Oh no, I don't drink; just a bit of port at Christmas.
One i did like was Cloudy Bay from NZ, haven;t had that in a long while. I worked for a wine merchants for a little while and he introduced it to me Though was a white wine.
I have tried all sorts of wine over the years, but have not found one i really love, i like the Wolf Blass so bought some.
perhaps our poster can take up your suggestion..atheist
Crikey, been keeping an eye on this thread since contributing early on - turn my back for a moment and come back to find it's turned into a typical AB "let's ignore the OP and just talk about what we like" thread! :-D
i like Webbo suggestion of the Grand Reserva Rioja. he has posted a link already.
look no further than 19 Crimes, delicious!
French, light and not overly flavoursome I think is the OP's criteria.

Beaujolais Villages would seem to fit the bill. Just chill for no more than 15 mins in the fridge and go for it.
I second Captain.
had that too - quite ok for a light drink
