Kindle Book Deals

I've always looked forward to both the daily and monthly deals. Books I want for as little as 99p...whats not to like?
I eagerly looked for the April monthly deals this morning...nothing listed. So instead I looked at "all deals". What a disappointment. Gone are the deals, with most books in the 3.99 and up range. Even a book I bought a few days ago is now 2.99. But listed as a 'deal'.
Amazon seems to be raising the price of everything...so what else is new?

I only used it briefly and stopped for the same reason. Do they still have the library, where you can borrow free? I haven't checked.

There are a significant number of free Kindle books just type free kindle and your type of book or try gutenberg.org which I believe has many free kindle and audio books.

I find this site good for free and discount eBooks https://www.bookbub.com/users/sign_in I get a daily email with 6-10 ebooks

pasta, do you get ebooks from your local library? I get around 20 a month because I'm registered with 3 different counties

But compared to the price if you bought the actual physical book, they’re still a fair bit cheaper.
£2.99 is also still a good price, if you paid 99p for it a few days ago then I’m not surprised it’s gone up, the daily deals pretty much always do, that’s why they’re ‘daily deals’.
Maybe they just haven’t git round to putting out the April monthly deal yet.

Vagus, oddly the eBooks aren't always cheaper than physical books, it's a conundrum especially as the VAT that was added to the cost of ebooks has been scrapped.

Yes, the daily deals are still there, but they aren't as good as they used to be.
I've used Guttenberg for classics.
I don't borrow ebooks from the library much, because I have a habit of reading 1/3 of a book...and then putting it aside for awhile. Not good when you have a time limit.
I tried bookbub a number of years ago, but I wasn't into fiction at the time, which most of their books seemed to be.

Yep, I get that Barry, but most are I think.
I recently bought Graham Norton’s book for kindle, for 99p on daily deal. Today it’s £4.99 on kindle, £6.99 paperback, and £11 hardback. I know he’s not to everyone’s taste but it’s just an example.

I've just read a Kindle series of 8 books that I enjoyed, not literary masterpieces but a nice easy read if you like police murder mysteries.
I've got a free trial of Kindle Unlimited so read all of them for nothing

Hope you enjoy it, Vagus. I read a lot in the middle of the night when I can't sleep so I enjoy this sort of book.

I'm really quite mystified that book lovers would moan that cheap books aren't cheap enough!
If you were talented enough to write your own wouldn't you want to be paid a decent amount for your work
Half price (for example) instead of 99p is hardly a rip off!!

Chelle, these cheap offers are usually one book in a series hoping that the reader will buy the rest of the series. Makes sense to me.

Personally never read books but the wife does. When we looked at what she was spending on paperbacks it would seem there was no change from £30 per month.
She said she didnt fancy a Kindle, but Santa brought her one anyway. He also subscribed to Kindle Unlimited for £7.95 a month. That was about 5 years ago. It saves a fortune, time and time again going by the current price of paperbacks.

I took advantage of some 3.00 audio books for a limited period. I haven't noticed any price rises. There was also a 50% off sale, I'd bought enough books already though.

There's a good reason why you've not found any April 'monthly' deals yet, Pasta. They don't start until next Tuesday!
