Oven temperatures
4 Answers
I have recently started to use a recipe book that I have had for many years. It is prewar.! Liqid and weight conversions are no problem, but when i convert(say) 390F to 200 C is this for a fan oven or non fan oven?,It has been trial and error so far with mixed results( some bad some worse) Does anyone have any simple rule of conversion? Any hints appreciated.

I came across a leaflet in Asda which explained cooking times. It said for fan assisted ovens you should reduce the cooking temperature by 20 degrees.
Therefore..350F= 180C =160C in a fan oven
450F= 230C = 210C in a fan oven
Hope this helps
