I can't stand the Food and Drink category and I am not an expert on wine and drink, although I am a wine snob.
Marques de Almereida, an Albarino from Northern Spain sold by Waitrose for about £14 a bottle ..something special which doesn't show off with crispness, fruitiness or any other of the adjectives which describe the properties of wine, but chilled it is a lovely and satisfying wine .
My suggestion: perhaps once a week, or once a month or for your own special reason ,prepare a meal with this wine as the centre piece.
Might
I suggest a simple meal....kedgeree with large portions of smoked haddock, whole grain rice fried in butter in a pan inthe centre of the table with the bottle of Marques chilled and taking central place on the table and get out your cut glass white wine glasses.
Make sure that you are showered, perfumed and wearing your favourite, possibly figure hugging dress with just that hint of jewelery and enjoy, chat, experiences and funny stories.
Pancake with poached peaches and ice cream to follow.

Marquis de Almereida.

Thank you.

Old fashioned wife

Pregnant and around the kitchen sink , eh sqad :-)
If it’s any consolation, sqad, I like that dress very much. You have good taste.
I'd look daft in a figure hugging dress
barry - join the club
Sqad, do you mean Marques de Almeida ? Waitrose don't have it listed
That is a pretty dress...love the colour.
But why on earth has she been photographed in a kitchen???
I wouldn’t, Barry, ;o)
That duck egg batwing dress is horrible.
Not my kind of dress ... but I'm still offended you didn't invite me.

Were you a Niles Krane ( Frasier )type , in your younger days ?
Question Author
Bazile.....no idea...never heard of him.
Ok - you don't watch Frasier
interesting attire - based on a surgical gown perhaps?
Question Author
Bazile......who?
Had a dress very like that in the 80s in my only size 12 period, except mine was a blue violet colour , now I am a size 24 , still prefer dresses to separates though, just more of the flowery practical, farmers wife variety.
I have two dresses very similar to that. One in black and one in a claret colour.

But it's midweek and I am still working so Mr BM will have to put up with something that gets stuck in the oven quickly and then is served by a slightly stroppy, tired, miserable old cow in jeans and flip flops.
Fraiser. An American tv series that ran for years. Two psychiatrist brothers with impeccable taste for the finer things in life. Overcome various misunderstandings etc.
Funny in it’s day.
