I freeze bread as I dont eat huge amounts. If I didn't freeze it, I'd eat it in the blink of an eye. I currently get sourdough for toast and freeze 4 to 6 slices in a bag as it can dry out quickly.
I too freeze bread the day I buy it. Like you, I use it straight from freezer to make toast. Usually, I know I'm going to have a sandwich for lunch, so I could get a couple of slices out in the morning. I keep opened bread I'm using, in the fridge, especially if it's warm or hot weather. I agree with Barsel, you could wrap 4 slices together for convenience, or how ever many you prefer
But 2 breads and keep one in the freezer.
