I can't call them restaurants....but I wish they would shut down here and in Europe as well.

Maybe some salvation for decent fast-food. Your thoughts?

It's cheap and cheerful. I've enjoyed a few breakfasts in my time when working nights.
Where does it say "pull out of Russia"?
The news I have is that they are temporarily closing their outlets, but continuing to pay staff.

splitting hairs.....I'm glad that they are paying staff though - in dollars or roubles though and will they pay their fair share of Russian taxes - and do they pay their fair share here?
No, not splitting hairs...temporarily closing stores is nothing like "pulling out of Russia".
this was raised a day or two ago, buit I was wondering how they enforce it. If someone with a McD restaurant wants to keep killing cows and sticking them in bread rolls, how is HQ going to stop him?

The last Burger King I had was awful (I gave it to a beggar, who seemed happy enough with it) but Big Macs are okay, as burgers go. I used to love Wendy's but I don't think they exist in this country any more.
theres a wendy in reading.
I wonder what the criteria will be for McD and other companies, to begin trading again in Russia
I'm pretty sure Wendy's were hoping to open several hundred U.K.restaurants over the next few years, but I'm not sure it the pandemic has put the kibosh on that plan or not.
So. what's different about Wendy's , compared to other fast food joints ?
McDs pulling out of Russia would be more like a reward than a punishment. Send every McDs in the World there instead. They would be in surrender mode soon enough. Bring back Wimpy and start again everywhere else.

Such as? They all seem much of a muchness, for the first time in 20 years I went into Mcdonalds, mainly for the loo, and I also bought a chicken wrap, £1.99 and quite tasty.

I agree, Togo, and their fish-o-filet burgies to be sent to Pressie Xi Jin Ping for Chinese consumption. Consequently, more rice available for the West to compensate for any limitations on Ukranian wheat exports.
just better tasting burgers, Baz, personal taste I suppose. I didn't know there was one in Reading. When the Elizabeth line starts operating properly, I'll give it a go.
I'm wondering why you would like to see tens of thousands (and the rest) of McDonalds workers in the UK and Europe losing their jobs, just because you don't like their burgers
