Take a reasonable, but not too sizeable sip, and allow it to roll on your tongue.
Without swallowing, open your mouth and breathe in. This (in theory) allows the wine to oxidise better, to give a different flavour (in my experience slightly sweeter).
Then simply decide what flavours and aromas you can detect!
If you google "Tasting Wheel" this should give you a couple of sites that give you an idea of the sort of things to look out for, but remember, there are no wrong answers, and what YOU enjoy is the most important factor.
