Mary Berry covered a bowl of spices in her kitchen with something real tight (cloth not clingfilm) to keep the smell from going around her kitchen.

Anybody tell me the name please as sometimes I have to leave onions out and don't like waking to the smell of them in the morning.

Thanks

thanks barry - on reading that link - the covers are probably elastacated. Can't even spell this morning
If the covers are made from muslin or cotton then they won't stop the smells. Have you seen these? Amazon.com User Recommendation

thanks Barry - do think you would need a bit of effort with those and that I don't have much strength in my hands.

Mary got that on with so much ease - there was definitely fine wire involved. Perhaps somebody made them for her.
Soak the onions in a bowl of water overnight.
JJ, I( bought some of these little casserole dishes from Argos as the lids are really east to put on and then they are airtight. I use them for all sorts of things as you can put them in the freezer or the oven and of course you can use them time and time again.
