Tell Me All About Your Air-Fryer
49 Answers
My wife thinks we should buy one, I'm not so sure.
It would be helpful to know:
The type - basket, paddle, or mini-oven shelf, something else
The meals that you cook in it regularly and how long each meal takes, approximately
The number of people you cook for
How easy it is to clean and use
The make
Are you pleased you bought it?
I know I'm asking a lot and I do appreciate your time

I have given too many 'must have' gadgets that I couldn't get on with. Very nearly bought a halogen oven when everyone was raving about them - now they rarely get a mention.
I'm not anti-gadget. I use my breadmaker at least once a day; love my combi-microwave and my slow cooker/pressure cooker gets a lot of use.

I'll be watching the responses you get. The oven part of my cooker packed in recently, but wasn't missed as I rarely use it. Instead I rely on my slow cooker and halogen oven plus the hob.
I was watching a segment of Australian Masterchef recently and they had to use an airfryer as part of a challenge...I took note of the make and possible model. It's now on my Amazon wishlist.
I can't afford an all-singing, all-dancing Ninja brand...but I know they come highly recommended by several Abers. There are many other highly rated ones.

Mrs sqad has read the instructions unpacked it but not as yet, used it.
She says from what she has gleaned from friends, great for breakfast and particularly for salmon and other fish.
Like sharone, one of her friends bought one from Aldi and has binned it. One gets what one pays for, if you are going to buy one then don't buy cheap.
Sorry she can't be of greater help at the moment (the kitchen is a place that I keep out of)

We (two in household) have a 3.2 litre Princess one which roasts, grills, fries and bakes though I have not tried the latter yet. It is basket type and easy to clean. I use it for chicken fillets, fish, burgers, chips, etc., most take around 20mins. I bought it when given vouchers in a gift - OH says we don't use it enough - he gets muddled with the digital
dial! Would I recommend you buying one - not sure about that!

Mine is never used as an air fryer, more a mini oven for when I either need things on very different temps or when there's a little portion of something to cook. Probably about six times a year. I shove all the bits in the dishwasher after. It's just a basket type no movingparts. I do t think I'd urge anyone to buy one. Maybe the all singing all dancing ones are better?
I have just started using an air fryer and love it. We have the oven style with 2 shelves, a rotisserie and a basket for chips etc. Today we cooked a lamb joint - lovely and also regularly use it for chicken drumsticks, pork chops and steak. Also used it to cook frozen meals from the freezer. We found an easy converter chart to show comparable times from oven to air fryer on google - easy peasy. Haven’t used the proper oven for weeks
