What's amusing your bouche this glorious Sunday?

We've got chicken salad planned for later but given the gorgeous weather I think cold cider and a burger done on the BBQ is the order of the day! I will need to convince OH to pop out and get a disposable BBQ and some burgers which may not be as easy as it sounds given that he's currently mixing cement to lay the edgings and has to take Ratboy Slim to a birthday party later.

What's on your menu today and what are you washing it down with?

‘The Best ‘ burgers at Asda are really nice much nicer than the frozen ones , find them in the fresh meats fridge
The usual roast dinner with beef around 5ish here , I did the meat using the probe in my Ninja ,it just fell away when OH sliced it
Good luck with the bbq as it is getting very cloudy here in East London.
I am feeling a little jealous and have a touch of keeping up with the Jones after seeing my neighbours new garden furniture.
Anyhow today I'm doing a lemon roast chicken with all the trimmings.

I like the Wagyu burgers from Aldi, Bobbi, but OH doesn't think he'll get to Aldi before it shuts. M&S are open a bit longer so we might get their "Ultimate Burgers" instead.

Sharon - garden furniture is something we are going to have to fork out for before long. Hopefully next year rather than this year. They've got some amazing stuff at Webbs.

By the way, beef and chicken both sound nice...
Its blowing a gale here on the east coast so definitely not BBQ weather.
I'm going to spatchcock a chicken and marinate it in Nando's medium peri peri sauce. Then I'll airfry some baby potatoes in my new Ninja airfryer and serve with peas and coleslaw. I would love a roast chicken dinner but my daughter isn't keen so peri peri it is.

Sorry to hear that, Tissy. I'm sure you'll rustle up something delicious though.

Carrot, spatchcock peri peri chicken, new potatoes and coleslaw sounds very nice indeed. Certainly gets my vote!
Thank you LadyCG and a cheeseburger would suit me just as well.

A cheese burger would be perfect. It's scorching out in the garden (we're south-facing) and my numpty of a husband is playing Fairytale of New York by the Pogues....
Just put the iron away, bedding on the line fluttering in the breeze, I’m east coast but it’s sunny and warm here
13.21 why is he a numpty? One of my fave songs!!!!
It's kind of a Christmas song. :-)
We are having marinated Tuna steaks in Orange juice and soya with roasted baby pots and garlic mushrooms with courgettes.
You mentioned a disposable BBQ. I was quite surprised to see mountains of them in our local Lidl just recently and remarked to my wife that I thought they had been banned from sale because of the spate of wild fires on common land and various other picnic areas.

May be they are currently available for private use in the garden only but not public land ?
Question Author
More than likely they're just for private home use, Retro.

Tuna steaks sound lovely by the way!

Piggy - c'mon...
If you would like to try it some day here is the recipe. I highly recommend it.

Question Author
Thank you, Retro. I am pretty sure I did a similar recipe a few years ago. It was delicious, I can certainly remember that.

Poached eggs on toast with two McDonalds left over chicken strips.

Love the name Ratboy Slim - would suit one of my dogs perfectly and may use it for a puppy name in future!

He's a little rat :-)

I told my FIL that I'm going to Pets at Home next week to buy a big cage and if he's naughty when OH and I are away they can stick him in the cage. Haha!

Just recently I have managed to poach some rather decent eggs. Not yet professional standard but I'm getting there...
13.52 i didn't know you were a stick in the mud! Ah well theres no pleasing some! Pmsl
