We're having paella with a surfeit of seafood. I'm not sure I have the appetite but I've defrosted it all now. We will have a toast to OH's granddad who passed away this morning, bless him.

What's amusing your bouche tonight then?

Hi there, Arky. That sounds very nice. Savoury mince is a popular thing in this house, usually in the form of cottage pie. Will you have a beer or two to accompany?
No not this evening, a few days off.
I Usually make a Cottage pie with anything left over, a little spicy, Coarse Black pepper, Garlic and dash of soy sauce.
Sorry for you loss LadyC.
Having Hunters chicken with salad , a glass of Malbec as I don’t like white wine , it gives me heartburn, H chicken is from our local butchers, it’s delicious

It's nice to put your own stamp on dishes - it feels more homemade then. I always use a dash or Worcester Sauce in mine.

Thanks. We knew it was going to happen as he'd gone downhill rapidly. He had a good innings.

Hunters chicken is lovely. If we go for pub food that is often a favourite choice of mine.

I like a Malbec or perhaps a Zinfandel but one red wine is my limit (I find it quite filling) and two white wines is the max I can tolerate. Acid reflux gets me if I exceed that.
Just the one glass for me , anything more and I’d be in bed at 8pm
BBQ ribs, coleslaw, salad and big, fat croutons in Chez Racoon.

Wotcher, RR. That sounds lovely. My OH will be banging on your door if I tell him what you're having ;)
Not had Malbec for ages, that's on the list for tonight now.
Spicy mackerel on toast maybe, we're having a big old dinner tomorrow to get some use out of our new fancy schmancy Skovby table.
Drink will be taken then too. :-)
Condolences to you. Tonight we fancied home made burgers, so I've made some using beef, pork & chorizo. Will have chips & salad.
Question Author
I do like mackerel on toast with a squeeze of balsamic and some white pepper.

The Barefoot Malbec is quite nice. We had a glass of Dark Horse Cabernet Sauvignon last night - or rather I had a glass and OH finished off the bottle.
Must try that Lcg , not the mackerel though, bleughhh

Thank, Sharon.

I haven't actually made my own burgers for years. I usually have the Wagyu ones from Aldi or the Ultimate ones from M&S, depending on where we shop. I really should have another bash at doing my own - might poke a hole in and stuff some blue cheese inside :-)
Question Author
Oh Mackerel is lovely, Bobbi, and so good for you.

I am really looking forward to some fresh whitebait by the seaside in a few weeks' time.
Now there's a thought. Cheese in the burgers, I must poke some in!!!
Question Author
Don't tell Tom9348 or he might poke something in too.
Is that the bloke with the Virgin Wines account?
Blue cheese in the poked hole would be a bonus!
