Someone with better maths skills to help. Amex points are are worth 0.5p if redeeming them for a gift card. However , i get triple points on supermarket spend meaning points are worth 1.5 p each. 2000 points are needed for a £10 gift card-(or only 1333 points by triple supermarket points spend-if my maths is right ).Which means about a reward rate of only 0.75% ?
I got lost somewhere there - and I used to teach maths! Forget the gift card and concentrate on what you get back for each £1 you spend. At the 'regular' rate, you're getting 0.5% back. Therefore, at the 'triple' rate, you're getting 1.5% back. How your points are then converted to a gift card is irrelevant.
