We have Roast chicken, roasties, creamed spinach, peas, carrots, savoy cabbage, broccoli, sprouts and gravy.  The veg is surplus from yesterday's pork belly dinner.

Spag Bol here later as family are doing their charity bit for Children's cancer

Question Author

Ah yes, you did mention that Sunday dinner was off the menu this week.  Spag bol is one of the little one's favourites and he loves his garlic bread on the side. πŸ₯–

Roast chicken here too, roasties - crispy golden and fluffy on the inside, sprouts, carrots and parsnips done in a glaze, bread sauce, stuffing, cranberry sauce (home-made) and the best gravy in town :) Bon appetit, one and all.

Prawn, Kale, Coriader and Lime Pilaf in Casa Racoon this afternoon. Followed by an Espresso Martini.

OH, son and his boys are having roast lamb with all trimmings and I am having Roast chicken.

That would be my choice sheds too, I find lamb a bit greasy

For breakfast I had a cheese an' onion sarnie. other than that not decided. Plenty to choose from that doesn't invole too much cooking and effort a shepperds pie maybe. For Supper probably Pizza

Question Author

Wowsers, do you have a recipe for the espresso martini?  I would love one, but not today as it's a school night.

Do you not like lamb, TSM?  I love it.  The only "roast" I don't like is beef, which is OH's favourite.  I should make it for him really.

I love a martini espresso too Rocky

Hot dogs and apple pie tonight

Arky, you've reminded me that I want to make an indian version of Shepherd's / cottage pie, i.e. Keema curried mince layed with flat onion bhajis and aubergines but I'm stumped what to do as a topping.

Home made pre-cooked Moussaka fro the freezer with garlic beans. She who must be obeyed has stated that we must start clearing our freezers of batch cooked meals.

I'm drooling over some of the meals you English folks are going to have  ....  I've not long had cooked breakfast so will have some savoury nibbles watching rugby Scotland v Tonga and maybe a pub grub at Music Festival this evening.

Have you thought about topping with Hash Browns. We make a curried spiced minced beef traybake with that topping.

Question Author

Moussaka is a favourite in this household, Retro.

Roast chicken for me too. With roasties, parsnips, carrots, green beans, broccoli & Yorkshires.

Question Author

I did consider that, Retro, but thought that hash browns and bhajis might make it a bit too filling.

I quite like the traditional topping of a moussaka - yoghurt and eggs beaten - perhaps with a hint of spice?  Some expert culinary creativity is required so all suggestions welcome.

Been batch cooking  so right now the thought of eating is  along way from my thoughts, but I  have a lot of salmon portions in the freezer so might do some in a Thai red curry coating with salad
