'A big dollop of fresh cream', says someone I know.   I've heard of jam, or golden syrup, but never fresh cream.   Has anyone else ever heard of it?

I can't bear anything made with milk except cheese sauce!  Readybreak can be OK with oat milk, but it has to be almost runny.  I feel like Andy about thick porridge.  I won't eat cream but do like sour cream in cooking.  Love Greek yoghurt.

Lottie, I love ready brek but it's so expensive these days, I would sometimes blitz my porrdge and it's like ready brek texture, maybe you might like that

I vaguely remember eating redy brek for breakfast in the winter during my childhood.

But when I grew up I experimented with Scott's porridge oats, and flavahans oats, which for me were superior!

I also cook porridge the night before. Nowadays living in Spain I prefer to use soy milk as opposed to cows milk.

I also add a banana( ripe) and a few seeds.

Made with milk, no sugar, nothing else.

Ready brek looks like wallpaper paste.

I always have a tin of squirty cream in the fridge and have been known to squirt it on porridge before today.

My favourite porridge is actually the one they serve in my local hospital. Wish I knew how they make it.

Piggynose, can you get Flahavans in Spain? that sounds a grand breakfast. I do like banana too

Barsel, you must go to the same hospital as me ;) when I'm ever in there, they have the best porridge - maybe it's because I didn't have to make it myself

When I have porridge, I put a knob of butter in it, see it melting + a little sugar and milk.

Oats so Simple with oatmilk are Ok ducksie.  I really don't like any breakfast cereals though even with oatmilk.  Mr Lottie eats granola with Greek yoghurt every morning.  Gone are our days of fry ups.  I suddenly fancied a bacon sandwich yesterday. We haven't had bacon for yonks.

Lottie, I prefer Granola with Greek Yogurt to porridge.

A huge dollop of golden syrup and single cream. Yes yes I know I'm diabetic but it works for me!!

Ducksie my hospital comes under the Manchester Foundation Trust.

Next time I'm in there, I'll see if I can speak to someone from the kitchen.😀

I also use half milk and half water and a pinch of salt

11.24.ducksie. You might be able to get it in Teguise,Lanzarote. They have a Spa supermarket which sells Irish bacon and sausages.

Like you Lottie, I abhor cereal. I don't understand why it exists?

As for dairy...I love it all except milk. I can eat thick cream out of the container.

I think at our age a little of what you fancy does you good, Neti!

Best porridge ever tasted, was in the premier inn Edinburgh!!! Thick and creamy, whatever I do I cud never replicate it!!!

I'm an absolute cheese lover Pasta, so that's my daily milk!  I've never liked milk and as for milk in tea or coffee yuk, yuk, yuk.

Andy, I loved rice cremola too especially when it got a skin on it. I've never know anyone else who's tried it!

Barsel, do ask them next time, hopefully it won't be anytime soon 😉
I've never tasted Oats so simple Lottie
Good to know about the store in Lanzarote Piggynose, I'll know where to go when I'm over there again :)
I couldn't have butter in my porridge
