We're going to have some m&s grub tonight..a chicken, leek and bacon pie, some prepared root veg thing, and sprouts!

Last night we had macaroni cheese from their extra special range, which was delicious. I've never made it myself but doubt it'd be as nice as this was.

We also got one of their Chinese takeaway boxes to have on Saturday evening, not had theirs before so I hope it's nice, the Sainsbury one is.

And with a cuppa later today we have some chocolate eclairs.

We're away at the moment so it's anything for an easy life, and a few treats 😋🍷🍸

What sort of things are they, Bednobs..steaks, chops, something else? I'd make a dinner with them, with veg, etc., and apple  sauce. Or maybe a stir fry with a Bednobs invented sauce?

they are loin steaks i think

The dreaded ultra processed food for you then, Vagus.  Why do they bad foods taste so good?

Home-made Cheese & Onion pie

Vagus/ There is nothing nicer than home-made Macaroni cheese!
😊

Yep, you can't beat home-made cheese sauce.

Bednobs Mix some honey, soya sauce, peanut butter and olive oil in a bowl. Pan fry the pork then stir in the sauce mix. You could cut the pork into pieces first then cook serve with rice or mashed white or sweet potatoes and any green veg

Shop bought quiche, home made wedges and side salad.

Beef and ale stew with dumplings and herby homegrown potatoes

bednobs - make a sauce with a roux and apple juice, saute some chopped up apple and white onion, add to the white sauce.

brown the pork in a frying pan and cook till almost cooked through, please in the bottom of a casserole dish - cover with the sauce then add mashed spud (the idaho one is good if you can't be bothered)

finish off in the oven

Not sure. It's my 79th birthday and I wanted a take away curry but we live outside of a village and it's mnot fair asking Mr N to trundle down in the dark and back again on unmade up roads! So I'll be happy with egg n chips. We are dining out tomorrow with friends!

Happy birthday neti

Thanks Redhelen x

Whoops, went out for a short dog walk, got chatting to loads of people and here we are two hours later!

Retro, I need to make a vat of chilli once we're home, I used up all my homemade frozen things when the kitchen was out of action.

love a jacket spud too 😋

This isn't any old processed food though Barry, this is m&s processed food 😂 We did buy two kind of plums, bananas and limes as well, so not all bad 😉

Oh yes, we bought a quiche there too, maybe have that tomorrow.

Moorea, can't remember the last time I actually made cheese sauce from scratch. Or any kind of pie..but I do love a cheese and onion one.

Beef stew and dumplings tells me autumn is here, yum.

Happy birthday Netti, I love egg and chips (or as Shirley Valentine referred to them as, chips and egg) and as it's your birthday a chip butty too perhaps?🥳

I intend to make a spicey butternut squash soup...and have a toasted slice of the seed bread I made last night.

Or a loaded cheese and onion omelette.

Retro, I'm having chilli too. Loads of red beans, spices & experimenting with small cubes of sweet potato in the mix. Having with rice & salad.

That's something else I need to make a batch of once we're home Pasta, that's my all time favourite soup. I squirt a bit of lime juice in it once it's in my bowl, really makes a difference.

Thank you vagus can't get sliced uk bread here so no chip butty!

Mr N did go awandering down the hillside and came back with a delicious curry with the onion bhajees. Always something missing

No way was he trundling back down so tomorrow they will have a very recalcitrant oap on their doorstep!! ME!!
