Crime Cases Still Using Cassettes

I thought things were hunky dory in the wonderful EU.
// Data provider S&P Global said its so-called purchasing managers' index (PMI) of private sector activity in the single currency bloc fell to 46.5 in October. That was well below the 50 cut-off between growth and decline //
And S&P Global report on the UK is very similar.
// At 48.6 in October, the headline seasonally adjusted S&P Global / CIPS Flash UK Composite Output Index was up fractionally from 48.5 in September but below the 50.0 no-change mark for the third month running. //
I don't really understand why there's such glee at the troubles of European countries.
Africa is full of pestilence, poverty and war and it's people are fleeing north. Russia and China are dictatorships. America has gone insane and looks like voting itself to become another Russia.
Do you think dear old blighty will remain immune and isolated from all of this?
