Feeling bloated as just finished lamb shanks braised in red wine & all the trimmings.

When that lot has gone down there is hot mince pies & cream.

Well it was supposed to be Scotch Broth followed by Grated cheddar salad with a tub of vanilla ice cream. The hospital caterers got it wrong so I had a thimble of cold broth and a pannet of Avocado,Sweet Potato and cherry tomato salad. They insisted it was what I ordered. I told them I would never order that let alone eat it and they admitted they had run out. The dessert was a small carton of chocolate mousse not vanilla ice cream.

I gave up and no longer care as I am not here to sample food. Just hope they are not so careless with my impending heart procedure.

We had roast haunch of venison with juniper and thyme with redcurrant and red wine gravy, roast spuds, parsnips and braised red cabbage. And then marmalade bread and butter pud.

We had fish cakes with parsley sauce, carrots,  pak choi, peas and spinach parcels.  Nothingbto follow, but I had my two inches of dark chocolate

Prawn stir fry. Mince pie with a dollop of thick cream on top, and a dollop of honey on top of the cream :>)

I made braised steak, onions and carrots with creamy mashed spuds  and the good old Brussels sprouts.  Just about right for the washout of a grey day it has  been up here.
