Whatever Happened To This Is Your Life?
Whatever happened to This is your life?
I used to love that show, and love the introduction where they catch out the celebrity they are about to present the big red book to.
And it was always interesting watching fellow colleagues and family and friends walk on as gradually the studio fills up.
Surely a show like that today would still be popular.
Assuming I get a positive responce to this, and it would be welcomed back, who would make a good presenter of the show?
It would have to be someone a bit light hearted, someone like Stephen Mulhern, or I could imagine the cheeky Ant and Dec doing it.
I suppose even if they dipped their toe in the water by doing the occasional one off specials like a Christmas special just to see viewing figures if its worth keeping.
I was watching some old editions on Youtube recently and it really was entertaining.

Funny you should mention This is your Life. I was reading about Nicholas Winton the other day - he's the Englishman who saved 699 children from the Nazis and brought them to England. Apparently he was on that programme - and at the end the presenter asked if there was anyone in the audience who had been rescued by Mr Winton. They all stood up. I would love to see that programme. Just thinking about it brings a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat.
piggynose, I just googled it as I couldn't remember.
Who refused to appear on This Is Your Life?
Only three people have turned down the red book: footballer Danny Blanchflower, author Richard Gordon and comedian Bill Oddie, although Gordon was later persuaded to appear, and Oddie later changed his mind.
