Hey Haz,

We are having ours on Saturday - cannae wait.

Then I eat haggis stuffed mushrooms or peppers for a few days after, yummmm

I was going to have haggis tonight...but I want something lighter.

I've used excess in meatballs...yum.

I loved haggis on one of the few times I've being to Scotland, I know it won't be the same as in the Hotel restaurant we stayed in but keep forgetting to look for it when doing my shopping order.

Happy Burns night to all you bonnie Scots.

Tesco are doing a pretty good one at a reasonable price.

Thanks DTC, that's where I buy my monthly shop.

got mine in Asda but having it tomorrow

and if you want to cheat, a modern version of smash, using dessicated spuds, the mash ain't bad...an extra knob of butter and a little creme fraiche added. The swedes for the neeps, they are easy enough and so the white onion sauce once you have your roux well-established - and I always use a full-fat milk for this.

The word Hotel does not do it justice we stayed here:

A really beautiful part of Scotland, Arky - love the west though stay in the east.

Tesco have a Simon Howie "wee" haggis which is nice - 200 g.

sorry the mash is Idahona and recommended by our late doctor....

I don't like Haggis.  It is okay as an accompaniment to a meal but not as the main main part.  A small amount is enough.

I absolutely adore Haggis - I love the leftovers stuffed into a red pepper dotted with some feta or cream cheese and then baked and served with pearl barley risotto

^^^^ makes note to self...there's a pointy red pepper and feta in the fridge

😘😋

I love haggis too, I'm disappointed I didn't think to get one to have this week. I'll have a look if I can add one to my click and collect next week. I'd love to try cranachan sometime, might have a go at making it one day, raspberries are so tangy, especially Scottish ones

vagus - I like to try and change up the traditional cranachan, so have done cheesecake before - this is the first time I have done it as a tart

I was mooching around looking for the tart recipe and came across a cake recipe too, they both look delicious, as does the cheesecake. I think I'll start with just cranachan first as I'm not much of a baker. Going to wait for the Scottish raspberry season 🍓🫐🍒(there's no emoji for a raspberry)😋

interestingly, Sainsbury's show they have haggis on their website but when I'm logged in  to do my shop, it doesn't show, just black pud. I bet Costco will have taken it off the shelves now too, the one I've bought there in the past is really, really nice.

Vagus...this, and several others

Ooops...just realised you can't add it to your basket

Where as...I can add it.
