They only seem to be stocked in the larger supermarkets. Don't many people make their own mushy peas anymore? I love them, could eat a bowl of them on their own.

Shelf space is a precious commodity so shops only stock goods that are in demand.  I don't think many folks buy dried peas anymore.

Dried grey peas are popular where I live but we have to buy them from the butcher.

I better stock up on them then the next time I see some.

I had a Surprise pea in the pantry

Are they more of a 'regional' thing?

Hope you cleaned it up Hopkirk.... : )

Funny its the one thing we can get easily over here - i use them to grow pea shoots

Trolley.co.uk (which is generally reliable) is showing them as available in the 'Bigga' version in Tesco (59p), Asda (85p) and Sainsbury's (90p), with the 'Quick Soak' type also in Asda for 85p.

Mushy peas are revolting though!

^matter of opinion, of course. I love them...but they are not that readily available now. Only the larger stores have them.

And, yes, they are available online...at an inflated price.

I used to use them in my peashooters.  I need a new hobby, maybe I'll get another one

You need the bigga variety, the quick one just ends up like a soup.

Get loads of them.

Funnily enough, my sister was over from South Africa for Christmas and New Year. She works in a British emporium, and what did she take back with her to trial in the shop...... a few boxes of Batchelor's dried 🫛,  purchased from Asda. They were under £2 for a largish box.

Morrisons sell them
