not waitrose or tesco! i dont have an asda or morrisons

Try the local ethnic shop.

Any left over cornmeal  you can then use to make cornmeal porridge

Italian shop (if you have one) or Waitrose have it (maybe not in your local one, though).

Here's another recipe...less sugar.

^both recipes use cornmeal...which OP is having trouble getting.

both of those recipes need cornmeal (unsurprisingly)  i jst need to know where to buy it

do you have a local health food shop?

or a Holland & Barrett?

Tesco sells it

So does Ocado and every Asian supermarket

I'm pretty sure you can use polenta...it's the same thing. The grain might be very slightly coarser but not enough to make a difference.

Even in Barry's link, it says "Also known as maize flour and polenta, corn meal is high in protein and low in fat. It is widely used in Mexican and Creole cuisine."

I was trying to find cornmeal locally (ie Northern Ireland) but in the end had to order some from Amazon.

So if you're stuck, you can fall back on Amazon.  Mine was delivered next day.
