I would guess all airlines are the same. They're not going to have wheelchairs on board until they're made to by whoever is in charge of these things.
One reason Husband and I haven't been on holiday for years is that there's no guarantee of help at each end of the journey.
// Wasn't Tanni Grey-Thompson stuck on a BA flight recently? //
she was stuck on a train - operated by LNER, but the identity of the train company is largely irrelevant.
they all paint rainbows on their trains and claim to be inclusive, but they are not, none of them. The disabled are nowhere in sight.
In fairness it is easy to make assumptions, in this case that in our "modern world" all airlines have made basic provisions for the disabled; but if one is disabled it might be thought that one would check this as a priority. After all, what if there were more disabled passengers travelling than there were sufficient provision for ? In this particular case that was so, given 1 disabled passenger is greater than 0 supplied provision.
Yes one can also assume that an airline bearing one's nation's name would be a good bet, and one would like to blow one's own nation's trumpet anyway; but my understanding is that most airlines do make provisions, and he was simply unfortunate enough to select one that doesn't. He'll have lived and learnt.
