//In its first statement since the ceasefire, the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah made no direct mention of it and vowed to continue resistance.

Hezbollah said its fighters "remain fully equipped to deal with the aspirations and assaults of the Israeli enemy".//

The use of the word 'aspirations' is concerning.  Is this ceasefire to be one-sided?

I never thought they'd honour it.

They're whistling in the dark. As Stormin' Norman once said, "When you've got 'em by the balls, their hearts and minds will soon follow".

The cease fire was agreed between the Israel and Lebanon governments, not by hezbollah. It basically involves Lebanon forces controlling the southern part of the country and preventing hezbollah operating there.

Further evidence that Hezbollah (and Hamas) have no interest in peace or compromise. Please note all apologists on here

With Hamas & Hezbollah, forget the ideological/religious 'struggle' (jihad) they are simply mercenaries - it's a well-paid job & the paymasters are Iran.

If think Israel have got them in the cross-hairs to be dealt with when Trump takes up the presidency.

No - don't forget it.

Looking forward to the next round of mass casualties when Israel deploys their follow-up to pagers and walkie-talkies.

Some people an't be reasoned with.

No surprise.

In the bigger picture I wont. Unless there is a reformation within Islam itself, then its ideological opposition to Judaism, plus Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Shinto, and every other religion will continue.

It is in one sense fortunate that the Middle-Eastern oil will run out before long, the revenues from which are funding so much violence and contributing little to the world.

Wont make a bit of difference Khandro.  The West has already been invaded.

Wont be long until the takeover then they wont need the oil.

Do the Lebanese people really want peace or are they happy with the way things are with Hezbollah more or less in charge of the country.  Saw some going back to their homes in the south yesterday, Hezbollah flags waving out of cars and trucks, people including women shouting praise be to our martyrs.  Many are brought up from young children to hate all things Israeli and it would be almost impossible to change their minds.

As long as their aspirations consist of sabre rattling it won't worry most. Once the Iranian regime has been deal with Hezbollah may have difficulty sourcing any real resistance.
