Good Morning Thursday Birds!

 I am so excited!! Todays the day, well, almost lol. This afternoon we go to stay at the hotel at Gatwick, ahead of our flight tomorrow. Yes it's mad to go to Portugal for just the weekend, as everyone I know keeps telling me, but it's been a horrible couple of years as most of you know a fair deal of it, and just to have a break, do something different, means so much. We all need a little break sometimes don't we. 
So will finish packing/checking  bag this morning - it's almost worse packing for just a couple of days as youre never quite sure what you 'might' need lol!

Anyway, I'll be popping in and out this morning checking on what you lot are up to!

THe roofers have started this morning so we are expecting lots of banging and hammering. Its bright and sunny  here at the mo so the weather should be kind to them

It is going to be wet today Smow, when you get there, possible tomorrow morning too with thunderstorms. Not very warm in the North either but warm on the coast and further South. There is snow across central Spain over the weekend. Pack a mac.

Morning. Somewhat cloudy here today. Showers expected from about 5. Weather here can be very variable I can have rain and daughter 10 mins away sun. Bring a rain coat. Lots of hotels have brollies to borrow. Have a good flight

Do you have swifts where you are calmck? One of my most abiding magical memories in Portugal  was seeng loads of swifts in flight, ducking and diving over the rooftops in Lisbon. We were given a rooftop bedroom in the hotel and they were spectacular in the evening light. It might have been at the end of March though. We rarely see swifts here

Yes Swifts, should be arriving any time now. I have nests in my garage that are occupied every year. Also a Nightjar in the pool house
