A friend of mine is on a body-building diet, and I'm planning on cooking him dinner next week some time as a surprise. Not sure what to do though.... is the diet an increased carbs or protein thing? And does anyone have any ideas for a tasty recipe? I'm a student (and budget-prone) but really enjoy cooking, so difficulty is seen as a challenge rather than a chore! Thanks for your help :-)

High protein - low carbs - low fat!!!

I would go for a good chilli. A proper one should be eaten with rice so no carbs.

Spicy food speeds up the metabolism which he will be impressed with.

Further it is cheap. Don't buy expensive "lean" mince buy the cheap stuff and drain. That's the only difference.

For pudding try something "oaty" Muscle heads love oats as they lower cholestral (which is a problem in high protein diets) and it sucks up fat.

Oats are carbs granted. but good carbs.

soory above should read. SHOULD NOT BE EATEN WITH RICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When in training the really serious bodybuider will eat lots of tuna.
