The name of a sweet PLEASE

When I was a child back in the early 80's I used to have sweets that were triangular, purple and I think they had liquorice in the middle. I can't remember the name of them, and it has been driving me mad!

My boyfriend thinks I have been making them up, although I have been known on days out, to scour any sweet shop to find them, and prove I'm right. Please tell me they exsisted and put me out of my misery.

I know you can get blackcurrant and liquorice but i've never known them triangle shape. Not much help i guess.

Were they boiled sweets? What size were they? Did they come loose or in packets?

Hi, Firstly thank you for your replys.

Alibobs they used to be in containers (loose) and they would be bought in 2oz, 4oz and the like. They were like a boiled sweet on the outside (the purple bit) and chewy on the inside (liquorice). They were lovely. I bought something that sounded similar in York recently, thinking they may have changed shape and now be in wrappers, but they were nothing like them. :-(

My search will just have to continue. Thank you all again. Sandra

They also sound a bit like Army & Navy tablets, but they are the wrong shape
