Romantic Restaurants in Preston
Hi,
Anyone who lives in Preston, im looking for a romantic restaurant to take my fiance for our anniversary. Somewhere posh would be nice, as we dont go out that often and I want to make it special. We've not lived here long, so dont yet know the area so if anyone has any ideas, that would be great. We dont have a car, so it would have to be in Preston, or not too far.
Thanks

we've been to great times and enjoyed it but was thinking of something else. Traditional english or italian would be good. We dont like indian or thai. Mexican would be good too. Im living on blackpool road, near where it crosses plungington so not that far from town really.
What type of food is heathcotes? and would you recommend it for a romantic meal?
Thanks

Well, Heathcote's is now called the Olive Press and is certainly "romantic" by which I mean candlelit in the evenings with attentive but not intrusive service. The food is English but with French and Italian influence, and I'd certainly recommend the fish and the steaks are always top notch. There are several decent Italians, from Pizza Express (national chain I know but good pizza nonetheless) to Angelo's on Butler Street (near the Station). There's also a Tapas restaurant next door but one to Pizza Express but I've only visited very briefly. There is a restaurant called Franco's on the way between Preston and Longridge that's your typical Italian restaurant (tres romantic) and also Quattro's out towards Samlesbury but they may be a bit of a walk. The Italian Orchard at Broughton would probably be a good bet for the taxi journey but I haven't been there for a couple of years so wouldn't like to speak as to the quality. I've also heard good things about the restaurant at Preston Marriott on the A6 but I've never been there except for coffee-and-biscuits meetings. Having said all that I always entertain business contacts at either Brucciani's on Fishergate (for informal lunches) or Paul Heathcote's places (he has restaurants in Preston and Longridge) and I've never had any complaints.
Enjoy.
Thanks
I tried for guys but they are booked up for months in advance they said. Bit disappointed but ill know for next time.
Ive been hearing a lot around about the Italian Orchard recently so does anyone have anything to report about that? hopefully it is a nice setting, so we can have a romantic night. I have a car now so no need to worry about travelling, so does anyone know the address so i can get there with my map?
