It can be anywhere in the world but where have you visited, what did you think, do you still drink the wine?

I love St. Emillion, the history, visiting the caves on the steep hill, lunch in the square, a great way to pass a few hours.

I visited a great place in RSA brilliant place to lunch and to enjoy the entertainment, would I drink the wine here? not on your nellie! I have made people put it back in Majestic and given the manager a slap for giving it floor space. ( I made him open a bottle and taste it while I was there.) His face said it all.

The wine I love most of all, is from a private cellar so I will probably never get a foot through the door.

What has been your best or worst vineyard experience?

On holiday in California, cycling around Napa Valley; popped into the tasting shed of a vineyard. It was a 'slow booze day', i.e., there weren't many visitors that day, so the guy tending the bar was very happy to keep the refills coming, and chat about music all afternoon. Oh, and the wine was very nice. I learnt all about oak and 'butter'.
Hi sense4all, not quite the same thing, but I was lucky enough to be handy when a cocktail barman was practising making Harvey Wallbangers for a competition he was entering. Boy, he was good, but we managed to convince him they needed a bit of tweaking here an there. After about five we had to admit they were beyond reproach. He came third in the competition.

When I was little, we had our own.
Vaguely I remember autumns, when all the family went to pick grapes on a weekend.

Since then I pretty much limited myself to drinking the stuff...
