For U there's the Ugli fruit, native Jamaican, cross between tangerine and grapefruit!
W is watermelon!
Z is zest. kinda fruity.. I know, only half an answer.
What about Israeli figs, for 'I'? and yellow banana for 'Y'? or yellow tomato, or yellow apple or young strawberry?
Yam, Xylocarp, Zucchini
Zuccini = courgette in UK. I've always thought of it as a vegetable rather than a fruit. PLEASE, I don't want a scientific debate but what do you think is a fruit rather then veg?
In response to Gef, I believe its to do with the seeds. So something that is produced by a plant that contains seeds inside is a fruit. Tomato is a fruit, so a courgette is on that basis.
Yup. Vegatables grow out of the ground - generally root swellings or such. Fruits are the seed carrying produce of plants. So tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and courgettes are all fruit. The A-Z of fruit http://www.thefruitpages.com/alphabet.shtml list Ita Palm, Xigua, "yellow watermelon" and zucchini. I suspect the yellow watermelon is a bit of a cheat!
