I am on a freestyle low calorie diet, but i need some kind of snack bar to eat in the afternoon when i'm tired. Most seem to be really high in calories. Does anyone know a nicer alternative? I can't eat bananas - I know they'd be great.

what about celery? apparently it takes more calories to digest it that it's got in it - perfect
Its a bit of an urban myth about celery using more calories than it has in it.
Basically any fruit or veg - apples or carrot sticks - or cereal would be good for energy
really? wow i always thought it was true! how do you know it's not true?
Celery is good for helping you sleep. lol
What about a Harvest bar, about 100cals each, you can get them inpacks of 6 in the supermarket.
You can get Alpen Light bars now, Marguerite. You'll find them in the cereal aisle and they're less than 70 calories each. :o)
I swear by the Kellogs oatbars they are absolutely delicious and really fill you up and they are about 139 calories I think .... but they are very very satisfying.
Dried fruite is good, particularly dates and figs. They are sweet, so satisfy the sweet tastebuds. Keeps you regular too...
What you need is protein, and slowly digestible naturally found sugars. You can make a lean turkey breast sandwhich with mustard instead of mayo, cut it in half and use that as a pick me up. Otherwise dried or fresh fruit also works well, mango, papaya, apples.
