Maltesers

A wee while ago there was a question posed about Revels ..... I have another! Why do Maltesers in Revels bags taste different from normal Maltesers? I realise that there are an assortment of flavours and each will pick up on the other, but the actual texture is different, not as crunchy?

I think they are made by different companies...i.e. they are not maltesers, just a similar product.
