Does anyone have the recipe for chocolate mousse made with avocados?
I know it sounds mad but it was truly delicious and very healthy.
I think it was in the telegraph one saturday or it could have been waitrose food mag. but I cut it out and have kept it in such a safe place that I can't find the blasted thing!

Puree an avocado, melt 200g chocolate - use white to hide it as the regular can look odd - and fold into the avocado with 2 egg yolks and a couple tea spoons sugar. Whip 250ml cream and fold in. Refrigerate to set. Serve with ice cream, dark choc 'thins', fresh raspberries, dark choc sauce, strawberries etc.

As an alternative, try this Sweet Avocado Mousee with coconut rum and lemon yogurt: here

An instant sweet dessert is puree an avocado or press the flesh through a seive, sweeten with sugar and add some lime or lemon juice. (stops the avocado discolouring). Serve straight away in chilled glasses with some crushed nuts and raspberries - pistachios are good as they are green like the flesh. . .
Macpark - I found this on Waitrose's website dating May 2005.

Chocolate and avocado sounds like an unusual combination - might try it myself!

kislondon thank you so much. This is the recipe that I was looking for. It was absolutley fantastic although as you say an unlikely combo. It is unbelievably rich though and this made enough to feed about 10!
Glad to help! - I love the Waitrose website - I am always on it and their recipes always seem to work.

Bon appetit!
