I need to find all sorts of prices from the years 1946 and 1946 in the UK, things like common foodstuffs, bread, butter, milk etc etc, also wages and really anything to do with those two years.

Is it possible that anyone could point me in the right direction as I have found sites with things on for the US of A but not for Great Britain.

Would appreciate it if anyone could help... many thanks if you can.

There are a few wartime (1939 to 1945) prices here, classylady. Not sure if they would still apply after 1945, but it makes interesting reading. It might give you a rough idea.

Wow, PhilBy, you must be talking about an expensive area. I bought a bungalow, which was modified as it was being built, in 1963, for 1,640.
The price quoted is the average paid in that particular year Brownlow and not just for one particular property in any given area.

Hi Philby

Many thanks for your answers it's so kind of you. Did you know I didn't even see that I had 1946 twice (d'oh).... thanks for telling me, it should have been 46 and 1947. I can't see an edit button on here so can't change it.

Again, thanks for your help.
