9 Most commonly used herbs

Hi, what are the nine most commonly used (in cooking)herbs? I've just moved into a 2nd floor flat and have no garden but am wanting to grow herbs for use in cooking in some makeshift window boxes (baskets hung outside the "patio doors")

I don't know about 9, but here goes:

basil
rosemary
thyme
parsley (flat & curly leaf)
mint
spearmint
oregano
chives
chervil

Aaaaah. But where's the coriander ?

it might be better to grow what you like to eat. If i had pace i'd grow corriander, basil, sage rosemary and mint as i like all of these and cook with them

My faves are in order of usefulness to me

Parsley - flat
Parsley - curly
Basil
Rosemary
Coriander
Mint
Thyme
Sage
Dill

Have been very successful this year in keeping "supermarket" herbs (basil, parsley, coriander) going all summer, transplanting them into a bigger pot and watering regularly. My mint which normally grows like billy-oh has struggled this year , I read in H & G that this seems to have been a common problem - maybe the lack of rain?

My favourite is Tarragon, but whether you can grow it here, I don't know...

Coriander is the absolute King of the Herbs. I can't get enough of it. Who's with me?!?

(Incidentally, I wouldn't bother with curly parsley unless you're hosting a seventies themed dinner party.)
