Food for parties...

I am going to post this in Food & Drink as well, but this section has the best people so I thought I'd ask you first...
My gran's Birthday is coming up, and we're having a huge buffet party at our house. My dad and myself are the conjuring of the food. And we are both outta ideas, especially for dessert (apart from the birthday cake of course!) We're both able cooks and are not worried about a challenge....
So what do you think we should serve on our buffet table?

for a buffet, i normally make mini desserts:

mini choc eclairs
mini cheesecakes
mini choc ices
" " fruit tartlets
" " meringe baskets with strawberries
" " souffles
" " Banana spring rolls with chocolate sauce to dip

or if you would rather do full sized things:

Fruit kebabs
Chocolate fountain
Tira-mi-su
Pears in puff pastry with caramel sauce
Sticky toffee pudding
Trifle
Pavlova

oooo mr minter, we did that with bananas and flakes yesterday on the bbq and they were fabulous!!!
