Kids and ready meals
4 Answers
I have noticed that when I take my son shopping he always selects the meals from the tall frozen cabinets and I never use these myself is there a way to get him to eat the food I eat? I only have him 2 nights but I am starting to think he is being lazily fed at his mother's home.

So, if they ask for lasagne, I buy mince, tomatoes etc and we make it together. If they want pizza, ditto. You have the control then over the ingredients. Other than that, don't go to the supermarket where they have tall freezer cabinets - take him to the smaller shops, or the market - or just don't go down that aisle!
I agree with Kim, I find that kids are more liable to eat something if they have a hand in making it themselves: making pizzas from scratch is especially popular, they love making the dough and choosing the toppings. I'd also avoid the supermarket: we have our food delivered and top up when necessary from the local market - that way we avoid any frozen cabinets.
andybaird68- simple, dont give him the choice. It's the otherway round for me. My kids live with me but see there dad about 2 to 3 times a week and he gives them pot noodles and pre-packed crap. They eat healthily at mine. It may be that he's not being lazily fed by his mum but that he's given free reign of the supermarket aisles. instead of asking him what he'd like tell him what your having and choose a healthy but tasty option together.
