Have about 20 lbs of blackberries in my freezer after making jam and blackberry syrup. Any ideas for some interesting desserts I can make once I/ve cooked them down to save space? . And is there any easy way of getting rid of the pips apart from straining them through a sieve? A stick pulveriser has failed in this respect.

For pipping - only real option is a seive - or muslin if you only want the juices and no pulp. One other messy way is to just crush the fruit in a clean cloth and just squeeze out the juice.....yeah, then do the laundry....

Thanks folks for all your ideas. We've tried the smoothie and the ice cream and will be working through some of the other recipes over the autumn & winter. Can't waste them, having grown them for free in the garden !
