How do you prefer your runner beans? Personally I like them with loads of good quality butter, chopped mint and fresh crusty bread to soak up all those succulent juices as they run...... better stop there before I drool over the keyboard.
Had a glut of tomatoes and runners one year so cooked the beans in the tomatoes (skinned and slightly mushed) with pepper absolutely fab.. beans still al dente and tomatoes slightly gloopy. Fresh pasta and I had the best meal ever

Agree with Sherry. The combination of freshly cooked beans with sun ripened tomatoes is hard to beat, especially if covered with some strong grated cheddar cheese or crispy bacon.
