Jazzed up yorkies

I'm very proud to say that my yorkshires are absolutely spot on....but is there anything else i can add to them for that little bit of......"va va voom" ?

I've just chopped up some chives from the garden....just a small amount mind, and put them in the batter mix......but would would you add ?

Could you have cheesy yourkies, garlic ones, chilli yourkies......does anyone add something different ???

Quite good with some diced onion cooked in the hot fat/oil in the tin/tins before pouring the batter mixture into them.

A tot of Scotch in the mixture works wonders.

I sometimes add dry stuffing mix to the batter they turn out yummy

serve them as a true yorkshire dish with mince and onion gravy!

Toadies (sausages) which are not different but are delicious... or leftover meat sliced, dropped into the hot fat - pour over the batter (making sure you cover the meat - otherwise it goes crispy) then bake in the usual way!

There are some things that just don't need mucking about with. If your yorkies are already good then just enjoy them as they are.

I do enjoy them.....i just like to try different things. Don't forget that yorkies are not only good with your roast beef but delicious cold served with a gravy dip in a buffet.

I can't seem nothing wrong at all to tinker with the traditional.

My 86yr old Mum always adds onion and a pinch of sage and one of thyme and they're lovely.
