Has anyone else noticed that the vast majority of questions that get asked with alarming regularity (Knorr, Debenhams, M&S etc) are from new users who we never ever see again and who usually never bother acknowledging they've got the answers?

Have they come on, done the dastardly deed (posted the Q) then smegged off before getting the reply?

Have they got the reply and gone away chuffed as little meatballs?

Have they forgotten they asked the question in the first place?

Have they only got the one question they desperately need to know the answer for, so can't contribute further?

Have they posted the question, had a shufty round the sections and then decided AB is not their cup of tea????

Anyone care to enlighten me?

I searched diligently for an answer to someones Q the other day ..to the point of looking out an old book in my loft to answer the question ..well I sent the butler...but that's not the point.... One doesn't expect to be lauded and applauded but it does cheese me off when they seem so desperate for answer ..by the wording of the post..then they just b....gger off never to be seen again.
seconded - or thirded whatever the correct term would be here.
I think most "*oogled" their way here by asking the same, excat, pat question - (most notable around coursework submission time).
They get a reasonable answer, and, henceforth, any spotty oik who cares to insert verbal form of search-engine brand name "resistance of a brick" gets directed to this site, whereupon they proceed to ask the same question.

I myself came across AB through a search engine, but it took me months of "lurking" before I dared post an answer, let alone a question!! (Even though there was only QM, bernardo, loosehead, and the long-missed-not-so-frequent poster in a pickle (who started about the same time as me)

I think we all rise to the same bl**dy questions being posted again and again - although, through years of therapy, I have largely risen above responding with bile and venom.

Mind you, getting in after a few pints, my tolerance may diminish, especially if the qstn is writ wiv txt spk innit, or the poster what should of [sic] checked the "has your question been answered?" page proceeds to post there [sic] question.

Now I'm not saying that every quetion has to be correctly spelt, punctuated and grammatically correct - people who pick out every spelling error / typo are a pain in the a*se.

But I'm sorry, I would rather answer any sincere question, however spelt, over one that could not be bothered to either;
construct an answer without using txt spk
or
that could hardly fail to notice that there [sic] question had been asked (and answered) in the last tasty-tasty-very-very-tasty, M&S-ing, T-Mobile(what-"latest"-effing-T-Mobile-ad-are-you-on-about???) that appears two sodding questions and a whole hour below yours!

Apologies, BOO, rant over. I have calmed down now and have booked therapy to restart on Monday..... 2,3,....breathe.........4,5....and out.....
Hey Boo :)

Yes and it drives me mad :)

Shame they can't list doen the side something like the top 10 recent questions asked with the answers so they find what they are looking for straightaway and don't need to post.

Maybe I shuld put this in suggestions....

Brachiopod- more than welcome to rant in any of my posts, has it helped? LOL

shaney- told ya, sack that butler, his shenanigans with your new housekeeper would make your eyes bulge!

Heh- ta Briar :-)

Jenna- awesome suggestion, you really should put that in suggestions :-)
You know my thoughts on this Boo!!

As for the Knorr song, maybe it's Together we areBOOtiful....or is that the Bernard Matthews cover version??
I have just signed up to this website (which I doubt I will use again - eeek!) just to reply to your ridiculous post. First of all the website is designed for people to just look around get the answer they want and 'b***er off', secondly so what if they post a question and don't look again for the answer? Does this affect you and your use of the website in any way that actually matters? For those of you that actually find out the answers you should be gratefull for the new knowledge you have gained or not worry as I'm sure the answer will come in use to someone else eventually and last of all reading posts like yours is probably the reason why they decide AB is "not their cup of tea".
if that's all you have to bother you then you must lead a boring life - it's called the answer bank - not 'let's have a long chat bank' - the home page says 'ask questions - get answers' that's all their doing....if there are more posts like yours then the site will be a select few only and will soon fold
I'm not sure who that was aimed at? I forone do not have mush of a life sine joining My Space but I just had to say something to what BOO posted as it really annoyed me ...
My keyboard is also broke after having tea spilt on it
There is a search category which asks you to look and see if your question has already been answered before you submit said question. The majority of these repeat questions already have been answered ..a zillion times. The point is ..they bung up the pages when they are continually repeated time after time ad infinitim.Anyone with a modicum of sense would look first to see if the query they have has already been answered before they post.

Goodness me girlrocks and doiremac- it was merely me pondering something that's been puzzling me lately, as it's a question and answer site am I not allowed to ask the above question then?

Yes I do have other things to worry about doiremac, thanks for your concern :-) As I've said it was me just puzzling this over, it certainly doesn't keep me awake at night.

girlrocks- I'm confused though why a user would post a question and then not bother looking at the reply? The point of their post would then be.................? And I hope you won't stay away girlrocks, just because you dont like this post, there's plenty of other posts out there, alot of them are good, and there's alot of nice folks who use this site (obviously not including myself- seeing as you've taken a dislike to me)

Ha ha - hilarious - if you know the answer to my question about who sings on the knorr advert I'll definitely thank you very muchly and will continue to use this site!

lol, thanks for the olive branch thisgirlrock gladly accepted :-) I checked your MySapce page, but it's set to private, so not a whole lot to view- heh!

Mrs H- ya question's been answered now.

oh please...does it really matter. i agree it's not very polite tho
Sorry people, but girlrocks is correct. This is a Q & A site.
I've been on for just under a year now. I personally have found it to be very helpfull however, I have not put it at the TOP OF MY MUST DO list, to come in and sit down and HOPE there's an answer to my Qs.
It appears to have escaped everyones notice that, when you do get an answer, the AB editor/site informs you in your chosen e-mail. just click the link and there it is.
happy posting all

Cheers Silver Fox. BOO my web page hasnow been set for the public to view ... now how do I unsubscribe to this site lol!
I'm not a regular user due mainly to daft working hours... but I KNOW I sent a "Thankyou" for my first query being answered ... and have since relied on "recently answered" ever since ...... but on the few occassions I've had time to browse the site... if I know an answer, I share the wealth that is known as knowledge.. it's called manners........
