My Mum was diagnosed with this desease a couple of years ago and has had no problems getting gluten-free foods from most of the major supermarkets.
However, the worst thing is the bread - hard as nails and grossly expensive! So I bought her a bread-making machine and the manufacturers sent me a recipe leaflet for gluten free products. Best thing I ever did for her - it makes a loaf in an hour (no proving to be done) and actually looks and tastes like pukka bread.
For other recipes, there are several good cookbooks for gluten-free meals, check out the larger bookstores and as templeman says 'get googling on the net'.
