fish smell!!

At the moment, after running my shower, there is an overpowering fish smell in the bathroom. There is no smell from running a bath or flushing the loo...anyone got any ideas???

If you have recently broken up with a partner..... check the shower-curtain rod. There may be some long dead shrimps or prawns in there!

it sounds like there is a loose connection on the wiring, call an electrician,it will be on the switch for the shower(if you have a pull cord switch) in the bathroom or on the shower itself,but please get it checked as soon as you can,I would not use the shower in the meantime. Ray

Hi CAROLT,

I take it that you have either a power shower or an instant water heater type. If so, something is burning. Fishy smells are normally from a defective coil i.e. in the motor of the power shower or from a burning cable, caused by a loose connection.

More likely from an overheated pump than a burning cable.

Have this checked out immediately, just in case.
