Thanks to both of you. Bit unsure to buy foodstuff off Ebay, Lonnie. Yes, Postdog, I like the cinnamon flavour, so Wrigleys Extra Fire may be a reasonable substitute. I do wish I could get some of the original Dentyne though. Maybe I'll be able to get some sent from the US.
Ironeyes - if you want to buy some from eBay - just make sure that the seller is one who sells all kinds of foodstuffs - not just someone who had some stashed in their closet :) You can also check their feedback rating to find out if anyone has ever had a problem with them. It used to be just individuals were selling on eBay, but now it is companies with eBay shops too - even some of the LARGE companies.
Absolutely right BBWCHATT, I should have had more faith and looked first. However, as I work for an American company and we have a sister establishment in the US, I'll just get someone to bring me some. The Classic long sticks are what I'm after and who knows, I might end up selling some on ebay!
Great idea Ironeyes - you can have some for yourself and make some money in addition to!!! You might also get them to bring you some bags of our cornmeal mix to sell on eBay too - someone posted earlier and they couldn't find any at all - had to resort to using expensive polenta to make cornbread!!! Here it is in every supermarket - right next to the flour - and less than $2.00US for a 5 pound bag - but a lot of times on sale for just 99 cents. You could make a killing!!! I wish shipping weren't so expensive, I would just shop for all of you guys!!!
Hey BBWCHATT, you've thrown me as from your answer you live in the US and for some reason, I assumed that all correspondents here were UK based. How stupid is that? Anyhow, from the time of your last reply, you must either be an insomniac, work nights or live out west, or have I been watching too many Columbos?
Ironeyes - I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - thus my screen name - BBW means a fat woman and Chatt is short for Chattanooga. Some nights I wake up after sleeping for an hour and stay awake for a while - on those nights, I just play on the computer until I can sleep again. I think you are right - almost everyone on AB is in the UK - however, they have accepted the few of us and made us feel welcome here :)
