who invented noodles and pasta and other similar foods, was it the chinese or the italians?

I don't know, but it is perfectly possible that something like pasta could have been invented/discovered independently in two (or more) different places.

Further research indicates that it was invented in China, and the idea taken to Italy by Marco Polo.
