Can you freeze ham?

You know the pre-packed sliced ham? Well I just wondered if its ok to freeze it. Has anyone tried it? If so did it thaw out ok?

I used to freeze it when I ran a canteen. It always came out alright and no one ever died(as far as I know).

Oh and tonyted - I know I'm a girlie but I did actually try reading the packet label before I posted the question - and there was no reference to freezing anywhere that I could see!!
