Most wholesalers and breweries who sell only to the trade do not have Premises Licences and Designated Premises Supervisors who have the necessary Personal Licences as the law does not require it to sell to a trader. However, you could ask a Licence Holder, ie. a publican, to get it for you and then sell it to you. Otherwise could also be committing an offence.
Gas regs could be a problem if using keg's, heat and gas cylinders always dont match.
You can have kegs delivered free of charge too, other points are...
I have seen kegs of beer etc for no less than the price of buying tins, beware kegs are not alway the best price ratio you may think unless you buy 2 with 1 free. Forget cask ale if you dont know what you are doing, if all goes wrong and you cant prove the cask is faulty you will end up out of pocket .
Get some help or buy tins, but enjoy either way.
