After forgetting about an expensive bottle of wine that I had placed in my freezer it is now solid. Am I safe to drink this once it has returned to a liquid???

well, i know there is advice to freeze unused wine in ice cube trays, to use in cooking, and i've accidentally frozen part of a bottle of wine by putting it in the freezer to chill it quicker and then forgotten about it (maybe like you've done). the wine was fine, although it was only the bit in the neck that had actually frozen.
perhaps for wine buffs, it would be a no-no as it may alter the taste, but i'd give it a go and see what you think. i'm sure it would be safe to drink.

Thanks ethandron. Will give it a go. If I wake up with an headache then I know it was bad!! lol.
if you wake up with a headache, you drank tooooo much!! let us know what it was like.
It'll be fine.
I used to make my own wine and on the odd occassion I froze it simply because I was too late in chilling it when guests arrived. It was never the worse for wear .. .. and having made it, I really couldn't tell any of any difference in taste.

It will be fine
