I don't think any of these places have the faintest idea what a proper pasty consists of.Same with that chain in London and all over whatever they are called .Cornish Pasty Company or whatever .I remember buying one in Liverpool Street. It was revolting .
My Mum and my Grandmother were cornishwomen born and bred and they could make a pasty ..or tiddy oggies as they are called .These are all poor imitations !! A proper pasty would cover the plate .... half hot one day and cold the next. I have never eaten a pasty that lived up to what my Mum could make .
They bung too much rubbish in them these days .They should be made with chuck or skirt ,potatoes, onion and swede or turnip and a nice short pastry and that's it !

well shaney, it was very nice compared to what we get in Leicester thats for sure . I wish i knew your Mum!!!! Sounds like she knew how to make a "proper" pasty! Here they always seem to be too spicy, with very little meat in them.
spudqueen, we get cornish pasties here and i very much doubt they are cooked in Cornwall. How does that work?
