Fish & Chip meal

Is it me or is the price of a small F&C meal rocketed recently ? I had cod and chips for one to take out and it cost me �4.50 !!!!!!! Shocking.....

i read or heard something recently that due to the funny weather last year the potoato crop has been affected and its putting the price of chips up but hey i might of dreamt it!

It's not the spuds it's the bloody French and Nordics encroaching on our once owned international waters stealing our cod!!!

The most annoying thing is though, that haddock (which tastes like cod anyway) is in abundance and the bloody chippies put haddock prices up aswell.

However, if you think about even �4.50 for a (believe it of not) quite healthy meal made from a fish that comes from about 400 miles away, spuds that were grown with love and no washing up to do afterwards, is quite good value.

Did you have a pickled onion as well?

Ah - no, I have delicate tastebuds and dont think pickled onions go well with F&C...prefer my pickles with a good vintage cheese and a sturdy red....
